Foundation Board of Directors

Chair

Scott Morgan Mr. Morgan has been the co-chair of Thomson West's participation at Lavender Law for six years and has had success in networking with individuals across Thomson North American Legal and NLGLA to coordinate Thomson West's presence and sponsorship at Lavender Law.  He has served on the Foundation board since 2005 and strives to bring his business expertise to help grow Lavender Law, the Foundation, and the Association membership. Scott joined the Thomson Corporation, a leading global provider of integrated information-based solutions to business and professional customers, in 1988. He currently serves as a departmental manager and is also the product developer and content owner of Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender practice tab on Westlaw. Scott was the co-founder of the Thomson Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual, Transgender and Friends Employee Resource Group in 2001 and served as its co-chair through 2004. Scott graduated Magna Cum Laude from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, TN.  Scott is also a graduate of the Hamline University School of Law in St. Paul and is bar admitted in Minnesota.  He is originally from Lexington, KY and currently lives in Eagan, MN with his partner.

Secretary

Lisa "Lee" Schreter  Ms. Schreter represents and counsels management clients in connection with all types of labor and employment matters arising under federal and state law.  Ms. Schreter regularly appears before federal and state agencies and courts in various wage related and equal employment disputes. She has argued appeals in the United States Circuit Courts including the Second, Third, Fifth, Sixth and Eleventh Circuits.  In each of these cases, the Courts affirmed the lower court's decision for the Defendants.  Ms. Schreter concentrates in representing employers in complex class and collective actions involving overtime and other wage-related claims.  Her practice also specializes in assisting employers in developing forward thinking compliance measures designed to reduce wage and hour disputes.  Ms. Schreter received a J.D. from Georgia State University, cum laude, 1991.  She also has a M.S.I.R., Georgia State University, 1987 and received her B.S. from Ithaca College in 1981. Ms. Schreter is an editor and contributing author to the “Fair Labor Standards Act” published by the American Bar Association, and has also authored many employment law articles.  Ms. Schreter is a frequent speaker before industry and trade associations, business organizations and human resource groups concerning employment-related disputes and wage and hour issues. 

Treasurer

Kate Fletcher is a solo practitioner in Chicago and its surrounding suburbs practicing in the areas of Tax and Estate Planning with an emphasis on estate planning for same-sex couples.  She graduated from Loyola University Chicago School of Law with a J.D. and an LL.M. in Taxation.  Ms. Fletcher began her career with NLGLA as a Law Student Division representative, where she coordinated the most successful writing competition in the organization's history.  Ms. Fletcher is also a pilot with a major US Airline.

At-Large Board Member

John T. Hendricks is an associate with Lafayette & Kumagai in San Francisco, CA. His practice focuses on defending management in employment litigation involving Fortune 500 companies, health care, and public entity clients. He also is experienced with general commercial litigation, and has worked in-house for a leading Silicon Valley internet telecommunications company. Mr. Hendricks earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of California, Los Angeles and earned a Juris Doctorate from the University of San Francisco School of Law, where he received the John L. Brennan Award for trial advocacy.

Mr. Hendricks is a Director of the Bay Area Lawyers for Individual Freedom (2003-2004 and 2006-present), the nation's oldest and largest regional LGBT bar association. Additionally, Mr. Hendricks is a member of the Bar Association of San Francisco Equality Subcommittee on LGBT Issues, and a contributor to its pioneering report published in November 2007 .
